The sheet has been pulled from the 2013 Nissan Altima—well, in a brief teaser video
first posted on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/Nissan?sk=wall), anyway. We’ve previously published spy shots of the car (http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2013-nissan-altima-spy-photos-news), but this is the first look we’ve had of a fully finished car sans camo. Of course, the teaser clip doesn’t reveal much, showing only an overhead silhouette. The 2013 Altima adopts an all-new platform that will later proliferate to other Nissan sedans and crossovers, and the family sedan again will offer four-cylinder, V-6, and hybrid power. The Altima hybrid’s return comes after a one-year hiatus (http://blog.caranddriver.com/nissan-altima-hybrid-euthanized-for-2012/), but this time around Nissan is using its own technology and not licensing Toyota bits as it did for itslast-gen car (http://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons/2010-ford-fusion-hybrid-vs-camry-hybrid-altima-hybrid-and-malibu-hybrid-comparison-tests). (Details on the hybrid setup—which will incorporate a supercharged four—can be found here (http://blog.caranddriver.com/nissan-announces-new-hybrid-powertrain-with-2-5-liter-supercharged-four-and-lithium-ion-battery/).) Transmissions will include a CVT and a manual; the stick will be available with either conventional engine. Expect base prices for all trims to fall between $20,000 and $30,000.For more teaser videos, Nissan invites you to visit its Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/Nissan) every Thursday from now until the car is fully revealed at the New York auto show in early April. Or you can come right back here, as we’ll update this post with the new clips as soon as they’re released. How’s that for a tease?

Nissan Announces New Hybrid Powertrain With 2.5-Liter Supercharged Four and Lithium-Ion Battery (http://blog.caranddriver.com/nissan-announces-new-hybrid-powertrain-with-2-5-liter-supercharged-four-and-lithium-ion-battery/)

Nissan may be generating electric buzz with the new Leaf, but when it comes to hybrids, the company has never been a leader. After all, the discontinued Altima Hybrid (http://blog.caranddriver.com/nissan-altima-hybrid-euthanized-for-2012/) didn’t even use a Nissan-designed system, but hybrid technology borrowed from Toyota. Without that car—which was actually only sold in 10 states with California’s strict emissions standards—the company doesn’t offer a single gas-electric.
That will change in 2013, however. Nissan has announced that the North American market will get a new hybrid vehicle that year, with an all-new hybrid-electric powertrain. The engine at the heart of it is a supercharged 2.5-liter inline four, and it’s paired with a next-generation continuously variable transmission. The configuration is similar to what Nissan did in the Infiniti M35h hybrid, with an electric motor packaged between the engine and transmission. The motor itself is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack.
Altogether, the company claims, the hybrid powertrain will produce power levels equal to a 3.5-liter V6—for reference, Nissan’s makes 270 horses in the current Altima—while delivering far better fuel economy on both the city and highway ends of things. Because it uses a CVT and a small-displacement engine as its base, the new hardware will also fit in existing vehicles and could end up in any number of places. We view the Murano as a top candidate, along with the next Altima (http://www.caranddriver.com/news/spied/11q3/2013_nissan_altima_spy_photos-future_cars), which we spied in August. And while the new hybrid powertrain is as powerful as a 3.5-liter V-6, we do expect them to live side-by-side for the foreseeable future.

و التوقعات الانطلاق خلال الاسبوعين الجاايين ^_^
