According to a report out of The Netherlands, the oft-delayed Spyker Aileron Spyder will adopt the Corvette ZR1's supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine with 638 hp (476 kW / 647 PS) and 604 lb-ft (818 Nm) of torque.
If true, this would be a momentous change as the car was originally slated to use an Audi-sourced 4.2-liter V8 with 400 hp (298 kW / 405 PS) and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque.
It would have enabled the bespoke roadster to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 187 mph (301 km/h). No word on pricing or when it will be launched, but production will likely be limited to 99 units.
